Looking into people’s lives and observing their private moments are something everyone is guilty of. Instead of denying it, I am showing it. Perhaps the work I produce is a hidden pleasure, or maybe I am accepting the fact that sometimes, you just can’t help but look. I paint in oils to have complete control of the surface as I believe the style of painting reflects an element of naturalism to soften the scene of eroticism and voyeurism. My intention and purpose is for the viewer to question the drive and status of the artist, whether I am male/ female, why I have chosen to paint certain moments and if it appropriate to show them so intimately and easily. I am invading privacy and displaying it for all to see. I try to allow the viewer a chance to look without feeling embarrassed as they connect with the gaze of each painting.
